  • The story kicks off with Michael Henry a boy away from his old neighborhood. When he finds access to a portal with his little girlfriend. The second trip to portal they enter it into the Land of Whoo. The Land of Whoo needs to be saved from the Dark Wizard and his evil people.
Michael Henry goes through Five Trials and learns he is the chosen one with the power to save Whoo. Joining other people along the way a Dragon, The eye of the Tiger. He builds his army to take on the Dark Wizard. Also learning his family orgins.
This is a fast paced Middle Grade Fantasy. I think it is a little to fast at sometimes. Like the battle sequences that take place. Character development was done real well. Reminds me of a RPG game the way all the characters come together and dialogue.
The end leaves it open for a sequel. I hope the second book has some more focusing on battle scenes and slowing down at some parts of book. 3.75 stars
